There’s no denying that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is quickly becoming one of the best signal callers of all time.
The 28-year-old has won two MVPs, two Super Bowls and has scored more than 40 touchdowns twice.
But unless you’re Nick Wright of Fox Sports, the idea that he’s already a top-four quarterback after just seven seasons in his pro career seems crazy.
The television personality visited First Things First on Wednesday and named Mahomes one of the four best quarterbacks since the NFL merger.
Fox Sports Personality Nick Wright: Believes Mahomes is Already Top 4
Wright revealed his top 15 quarterbacks since the NFL-AFL merger on his show “First Things First.
” Pyramid’s rankings do not include players who played before the merger, such as Johnny Unitas, Bart Starr and Otto Graham.
“It’s Mount Rushmore, along with (Joe) Montana, Patrick Mahomes and Peyton Manning,” Wright said on his show.
Mahomes is a two-time MVP, three-time Super Bowl player, two-time champion, and will likely be added in the coming weeks.
Peyton Manning has five MVPs, four appearances and two rings, with Tom Brady leading the way in cartoonish numbers.
3 league MVPs, 10 super performances, 7 rings.
Mahomes is already one of his 10 players to have won multiple MVP awards.
He remains one of the few quarterbacks to win multiple Super Bowls.
The Texas Tech product has won a Super Bowl or MVP award in all but two seasons except 2023.
Wright’s Mount Rushmore quarterbacks also include Joe Montana, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
All four quarterbacks have won multiple MVPs and Super Bowls.
But overall, Brady won, and in the big game he won seven times.
Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes: Picked Over Dan Marino, John Elway, Aaron Rodgers
Wright chose Mahomes over three previous players: Dan Marino, John Elway and Aaron Rodgers.
Marino led the league in passing yards and touchdowns three times and won MVP in 1984.
Elway won two Super Bowls and won MVP once.
Rodgers, on the other hand, dominated during his time in the NFL, winning MVP four times and being named All-Pro four times.
However, they have only won one Super Bowl.
