BREAKING: Buffalo Bills Make Highly Controversial Decision on Stefon Diggs
One of the challenges Buffalo hopes to address is retaining standout wide receiver Stefon Diggs on the roster for the foreseeable future. However, it appears that the Bills organisation is planning for the opposite, as a recent report indicates that the team is doing something unexpected.
Stefon Diggs Contract
According to NFL analyst Peter King, Buffalo is anticipated to restructure Diggs’ huge contract, which the star receiver will not be pleased with. There have been multiple rumours that the receiver may wish to leave Buffalo due to locker room strife, prompting many analysts to think Diggs could join a new team shortly. However, as the season progressed and the squad began to perform much better, these rumours faded, and the receiver was expected to stay with the team long term.
Buffalo Bills Considering Moving On
Since his NFL debut in 2015, Diggs has become one of the league’s best receivers. Before going to Buffalo, the standout receiver played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2015 to 2019 and improved year after year. Since joining the Bills, he has averaged over 1,000 yards receiving per season, making him one of the best in the NFL.
According to King, the receiver is set for a $27.9 million cap hit next season, which seems a little high for someone who hasn’t had a 100-yard game in 13 straight games. Even though he started 2023 hot, Diggs’ performance dropped dramatically, prompting suspicion that Buffalo may be ready to trade the receiver. Diggs is also 30 years old, thus he will soon enter the final stages of his career, which could lead to him being traded to a different team.
Could Diggs Be Dealt To A New Team?
While nothing is official yet, it appears that Diggs will join a new team this offseason. However, if the receiver agrees to the organisation altering his contract and possibly accepting less money, he will most likely complete his career with the Bills. Do you believe Diggs will be on a new team in 2024, or will he and the Bills organization come to a deal to retain him with the Bills?
