Cardiff City have agreed to sign Nottingham Forest’s Ethan Horvath after undergoing a medical.

Ethan Horvath, Nottingham Forest custodian, is having a physical at Cardiff City ahead of a permanent move, according to Football Insider sources.

The 28-year-old has dropped down the pecking order at the City Ground, having made no appearances this season.

He enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Luton Town last season, helping them win Premier League promotion, but neither previous Forest manager Steve Cooper nor current manager Nuno Espirito Santo included him in their plans.

The American made the matchday squad for Forest’s first four Premier League games, but was replaced by summer acquisition Odysseas Vlachodimos.

According to Football Insider (1 February), Forest are considering a late move for Strasbourg custodian Matz Sels to address their goalkeeping concerns.

Horvath joined Forest from Club Brugge in 2021, but made only 11 competitive appearances in two and a half seasons.

Forest have also agreed to loan Joe Worrall to Sheffield United for the rest of the season, with Football Insider reporting (1 February) that he will now have a medical with the Blades.
