Cowboys news: Micah Parsons’ truly believes about Jerry Jones’ ‘all-in’ declaration for 2024
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons is not one to mince words, and his podcast “The Edge” is where you can hear his honest thoughts on what’s going on in the NFL. So, when Jerry Jones mentioned the Cowboys going “all in” in 2024, we all expected the star linebacker to provide his thoughts on the matter.
Jones spoke with The Athletic’s Jon Machota about his philosophy for the Cowboys heading into the 2024 season, following a disheartening loss to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wildcard round of the NFL Playoffs.
I believe we will push the crap out of it. It will be a different approach than you have previously taken. We’ll go all-in. … I believe that you will see us this year not building for the future. That’s the best way I know how to express it. “That should answer a lot of questions.”
In the post, Machota was unable to reach a definitive judgment on what Jones meant. However, it appears like the Cowboys’ owner is committed to producing not only a winning squad, but one that can genuinely cash in on its Super Bowl hopes. When Parsons heard the comments, he had an unexpected reaction.
“They are discussing how we will go ‘all in’ this year. That’s what I’d hoping for. I am 24 years old. I’ve been in this league for three years and have seen pretty much everything. I hope we go all-in. I’m hoping that we can go out and grab the players we’re missing, like we didn’t do this year. I think we can push ourselves to become better and greater for ourselves.”
Following a 6-10 season in 2020, the Cowboys concluded the previous three regular seasons with a 12-5 record. They were eliminated early in each season’s playoffs, losing to the 49ers and Packers in the Wildcard Rounds in 2021 and 2023, respectively.
The Cowboys have always appeared to be one or two key moves away from reaching the next level, whether it was a coaching change or a roster overhaul. However, Jones and Parsons appear to be “all in” on the concept. Parsons simply wants to see the words translated into action.
However, Jones appears to be committed to finding the issues and using all resources in order to find a solution to his team’s failure to live up to the enormous potential that they frequently demonstrate throughout the regular season.
