Cronin: Marvin Harrison will be long gone if Bears trade down from 1 for ‘the acquire’.
The latest Bears Banter Podcast has been released!
This week’s show had an excellent guest, ESPN’s Courtney Cronin!
Courtney has been an excellent addition to the Chicago Bears’ beat over the last several years, and she stopped by to cover a number of things.
She reviewed the AFC and NFC Championship games and what the Chicago Bears could take from them, Matt Eberflus’ job security, and the additions of Shane Waldron and Eric Washington.
Of course, we spoke about the quarterback position and the number one choice in the NFL Draft.
The 49ers’ need for another last second miracle deserves a deep rewind
Several Bears supporters that want Chicago to stick with Justin Fields have had the plan that the Bears should trade the number one pick for a “haul” and then choose Marvin Harrison, Jr with the pick.
Is that a viable possibility for Chicago if they stay with Fields? Courtney did not think so.
“I think Marvin Harrison is long gone in a situation where the Chicago Bears trade back from one,” he said. “Every fake you see has him leaving by 4 p.m. for Arizona. “He should be the first non-quarterback off the board.”
She went on to say, “I think a more likely scenario for the Bears [if they trade back] is a Rome Odunze, somebody like that before the top ten is over.”
It’s a terrific podcast, so if you want to watch the video of Courtney Cronin’s interview, you can do so here (sorry for turning purple halfway through and looking like Grimace):
