Colin Cowherd blasts Chicago Bears media for misguided Justin Fields loyalty.
Justin Fields is now a member of the Chicago Bears. However, this could change at any time, especially as the NFL Draft approaches.
According to prominent sports commentator Colin Cowherd, one of the reasons Fields remains in Chicago is due to the local media. The Fox Sports 1 personality recently chastised the Chicago media for allegedly being too gentle on the 24-year-old quarterback.
Colin Cowherd Throws Shade on Chicago Bears’ Justin Fields
In a recent episode of The Herd, Cowherd decided to go full nasty on Fields and the allegedly overprotective Chicago media. According to the experienced broadcaster, the press has a mistaken loyalty to the team’s present cornerstone quarterback:
Throughout the season, the Chicago media worked to defend, elevate, protect, and promote him. “Maybe they’re watching Ohio State film,” Cowherd said of Fields before mentioning the quarterback’s career stats in the second half of seasons. “Do you know what that is?” I keep comparing him to this guy. Zachary Wilson. But the New York media never defends Zach Wilson. They call it as they see it, which is appropriate. I respect that. According to Chicago media, ‘This guy deserves another year.’ “In the second half of the year, he is Zach Wilson.”
Cowherd’s ferocity did not spare the New York Jets’ quarterback, however. In fact, the media personality made it crystal apparent his feelings for the young Jets backup quarterback.
As for Fields, Cowherd may soon get his wish that the Bears move on from the former Georgia and Ohio State star. Caleb Williams could be the new sheriff in town soon.
