Eddie Gordon joins the Packers as an assistant offensive line coach.
Head coach Matt LaFleur has expanded the Green Bay Packers’ coaching staff. According to 247 Sports, UAB offensive line coach Eddie Gordon has been appointed as Green Bay’s new assistant offensive line coach.
Gordon spent one season at UAB under Trent Dilfer, a former NFL quarterback who is now a college head coach.
“We are extremely fortunate to have Eddie Gordon join our team at UAB,” Dilfer said early last year. “Eddie was important in the formation of two national championship offensive lines. He is widely known in the offensive line community and has played an important role in Georgia’s recent success.
Eddie Gordon worked as a graduate assistant at Georgia for three seasons (2019-2021), particularly with the offensive line. In 2022, he was elevated to offensive quality control coach. He began his coaching career at Louisiana in 2017 as an offensive line graduate assistant. Gordon has even had leadership positions, including director of player development and assistant strength and conditioning coach in 2018.
Staff
The Packers’ offensive coaching staff will be made up of offensive line specialists. First and foremost, Adam Stenavich served as the line coach from 2019 to 2021. The staff also includes offensive line coach Luke Butkus and assistant offensive line coach Ryan Mahaffey, all of whom have been retained for the time being.
Matt LaFleur has not made significant changes to the offensive staff, but he has added a few minor developmental pieces. Aside from Eddie Gordon, the organization has added former quarterback Sean Mannion as an offensive assistant and former Packers wide receiver Myles White as an assistant wide receivers coach.
