Golden State Warriors Make Major Injury Announcement
The Golden State Warriors are getting Chris Paul back from injury.
Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul has not played since January 5th due to a fractured hand, but the organization confirmed on Monday that he will return on Tuesday night against the Washington Wizards.
This is a significant announcement since the Warriors will now have to reintegrate a crucial player into their rotation, as Steve Kerr previously discussed with the media.
“Chris [Paul], when he comes back, will play all of the non-Steph [Curry] minutes,” he stated. “He will be out there with Steph as well. When Chris is on the field, it’s easier for us to take Steph off the ball and reduce wear and tear because he doesn’t have to bring it up.”
Despite their loss to the Denver Nuggets, the Warriors believe they have discovered a solid rhythm with their current starting lineup and rotation, which will need to be adjusted slightly once Paul returns. Paul is expected to come off the bench alongside Klay Thompson, forming a potent attacking duo for the second group.
Kerr has said multiple times that Paul has been in the majority of Golden State’s top lineups, which suggests that he may close games even if he is not in the starting lineup.
