The Auburn Tigers have plucked one of LSU’s top recruits from Baton Rouge.
The Auburn Tigers took a big step Wednesday morning.
Hugh Freeze is in the process of providing much-needed leadership to his Auburn football program.
On Wednesday, Auburn hired LSU’s Will Redmond as general manager of Auburn football, according to multiple reports.
Redmond is Football Scoop’s Director of Player Personnel of the Year and is quickly recognized as one of the best personnel managers in the country.
Redmond’s best work at LSU came at the beginning of the Brian Kelly era, when the Tigers had fewer than 40 scholarship players, helping build a roster that included Jalen Daniels and a 2022 They won the SEC West Division, which they led.
“Redmond’s grandparents are from Franklin, Tenn.
, and grew from sports information student assistants to experienced human resources professionals at the University of Tennessee.
” ,” Football Scoop reporter John Bryce wrote in a report about Auburn hiring Redmond.
The Redmond-Auburn connection and his vision for what Freese was doing on the Plains made sense for the industry’s rising star.
Freeze had to focus on his off-field work in his first year at Auburn.
This offseason’s additions, especially the signing of Redmond as general manager, should allow the Freeze to focus more on their game plan and winning games in 2024 and beyond.
Auburn’s workforce continues to evolve during the Freeze Plains era.
