Auburn football’s recruiting ends on a strong note with the 2024 class, and the 2025 class could be even better for Hugh Freeze.
As the transfer portal hype subsides, the Auburn Tigers and the rest of the college football world are focused on recruiting and developing the Class of 2025.
Auburn welcomed five-star quarterback Julian Lewis to campus this weekend.
Lewis said Auburn is used to scouting him, but this was his first time on campus and he wanted to know a little more about the coach and program pursuing him.
“Yes, I will definitely be back,” Lewis told several reporters at the end of his visit.
He added that he plans to return to the field for 7-on-7 games and continue to communicate with the coaching staff.
He also emphasized that Auburn can do without players like Cam Coleman and Perry Thompson.
The 6-foot, 185-pound standout quarterback from Carrollton, Georgia, is currently signed with the USC Trojans.
Rivals has him rated a 5-star, On3 and 247Sports have him rated a 4-star.
ESPN doesn’t appear to be producing rankings for the 2025 class.
Auburn will be competing with multiple schools for Lewis.
It will obviously be difficult to pry him away from USC, but he is also being pursued by the likes of Georgia, Alabama and Florida State.
Lewis posted on his Instagram story late Saturday that he attended an Auburn basketball game.
He observed the excited atmosphere when Auburn defeated the Ole Miss Rebels at Neville Arena.
